Weak Aura vs. Strong Aura: the dark silhouette and the glowing one

A series of memes, often ironic, that lists the traits of someone with a weak aura under a dark silhouette and those of someone with a strong aura under a glowing figure. It first appeared on Instagram in 2018 and became popular through the 2020s as users photoshopped the listed items.

Hype Moments and Aura: aura against good writing

A catchphrase popularized by the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom in 2024 and used in contrast to "good writing". The jokes say shows, books or video games lean on "hype moments and aura" instead of good worldbuilding and writing, and in 2025 people began using the phrase for superficial or marketing-based popularity. Know Your Meme also names Metal Gear Rising and Dragon Ball Z among franchises often diagnosed with relying on it.

How they connect to aura farming

The three formats use the word "aura" differently: as a trait (weak or strong), as the epic quality of a work and as something you "gain" in a specific situation. For other cases see Aura Points, Piccolo aura farming and Gucci Morty, and to play with the topic try the calculator or the duels.
