What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a site saves in your browser to remember something between visits: that you're logged in, what language you prefer, or, very often, which pages you visited so it can show you ads later.

What this site uses

The aura quiz doesn't use any cookie of its own: your score and name live in the page's memory and vanish the moment you reload it.

• Google Analytics cookies (like _ga and _ga_<ID>): let Google tell visits apart to measure traffic and which pages or features get used, like finishing the quiz or voting in a duel. Google controls how long these last, typically up to two years, under its own policy.
• localStorage on the duels pages: we store, only in your browser, how many times you've voted, so we can show you a milestone message at 5 or 10 votes. It never leaves your device.

The provider hosting the site may, in certain circumstances, set a strictly necessary security cookie (for example, to tell automated traffic apart from real visitors). That kind of cookie can't be used to profile you or serve ads.

How to control them anyway

Every browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies from its privacy settings. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on so no site can measure you with that tool. Blocking analytics cookies won't break this site: the quiz and duels keep working exactly the same, we just stop seeing that visit in the stats.

If this changes

This page was updated on August 31, 2026 to reflect the addition of Google Analytics cookies. If we ever add advertising cookies, a real consent notice — with the option to decline — will appear before anything loads.
